As part of the quest to bring relief to the less privilege, 1Ummah Charity, in collaboration with the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE) on Sunday 28th June 2015 (11th Ramadan 1436) donated relief materials worth millions to support the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of both Auta Ba Lefi and Masaka Village of Karu local government area of Nasarawa State.

The 2 groups’ gesture made up of gift items such as free medical diagnosis, drugs, various brands of beverages, cloths, food items and toiletries among others were donated to the IDPs in the 2 villages. Additional necessary information you can read on this page.

The Amir of 1-Ummah, Mallam Abubakar Sadiq, expressed sadness over the trauma of those victims describing it as understandable and pathetic. Mallam Sadiq lamented the dolour of IDPs especially their densely congested accommodation which is capable of proliferating diseases of various nature. However, the Amir assured the IDPs of better living as the visitation teams were well equipped with basic requirements of people in such condition. According to him, free medical diagnoses were provided; free drugs and health nourishing beverages were distributed irrespective of their health status as well.

“We came with a lot but a little compared to the massive crowd of IDPs we have seen here and the mammoth needs of the people. All those items we brought are basic requirements of IDPs ranging from drugs, clothing and food” Denouncing the derogatory perception about Muslims by the IDPs who are majorly christians, Mallam Sadiq said we are all made for mankind irrespective of religion affiliation. According to him, the insinuation of restricting assistance to victims of the same faith is not applicable to Islam. He urged the beneficiaries who are majorly Christians to embrace Muslims as co-habitants and eschew from judging others with the extremist group in the north eastern part of Nigeria.

“We are made for mankind irrespective of religion affiliation. We are part of you and we feel your pain, embrace Muslims and never judge collectively.” He applauded the visitation team for their commitment to better the lives of mankind. He charged them to learn from the poignant status of people of identical soul and be empathic to sustain incessant charitable mind.

While narrating their ordeal, the head of Autabalefi village, Mr. Musa Samuel said the IDP are all victims of insurgents ravaging the north east. According to him, they are all victims of Boko Haram. Some ran for dear lives from Borno to Cameroon and back to Nasarawa here. Mr. Samuel said they are yelling in abject and lamented the undeserved neglect from the government. According to him, it is pathetic seeing fifty different families co-habiting in a house of not more than 7 rooms. He eulogized the groups for the compassionate gesture describing it as the best in the history since their staying in the village.

“Your visitation today is the best since our staying here. Though, one group has come here but their items were not in any way up to yours. We are neglected by the government. We are living in a congested temporary apartment.  We are happy and we pray for the blessing of God for you”.

He however called on government to arrest the situation through the provision of infrastructures to ameliorate their condition. It could be recalled that ICICE care has earlier donated relief materials to both the IDPs of both Gajiri and Sabon Kauchi Goro village of Kaduna road and behind game village respectively last Saturday prior to the collaboration with 1-Ummah.

As long as is required, 1Ummah Charity will continue to provide these services to all, as “Service to Humanity is service to God”. We pray for peace and prosperity to once again return to our Land, and the World at large.

Amir/President, 1UMMAH

Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad.
