ABOUT PEACE AND UNITY CONVENTION 2016

Nigeria is finally seeing the demise of Boko Haram. As with any conflict, the Muslim Community in is faced with dealing with the adverse effects of the insurgency which include socio-economic aspects as well as the stigmatisation brought about by perceptions of islamic extremism. At the same time, Nigeria is currently undergoing an economic recession with the majority of its Muslims ill-equipped to navigate themselves through it. Thus, the choice of the theme for this year’s convention:

“Integration and Empowerment in Times of Conflict”

The Peace and Unity Convention 2016 aims:

  1. To provide true knowledge and better understanding of Islam.
  2. Discuss rehabilitation and integration of the Ummah after the fight against Boko Haram.
  3. Highlight the need for the right approach to conflict management in current times.
  4. Highlight individual responsibilities of Muslims towards moving the Ummah forward in the current economic recession.
  5. Groom the younger generation for future responsibilities.

The Family Unit: An emphasis on defining roles in a marriage. The high rate of divorce in the Ummah is alarming and the disintegration of the family unit is playing a causal role in the dysfunction witnessed in the Ummah. Emphasis will be laid on defining the roles in a marriage to ensure unity.

Youth: Taking economic responsibility and giving back to the Ummah. The youth are not taking an active part in helping manage the current economic realities. Rather, they sit around and complain, and are unfamiliar with the concept of volunteering for the Ummah. Emphasis will be laid on raising the consciousness of the youth on the need to take a proactive role in the economy in line with the Shariah and the need to volunteer to grow the Ummah.

Teens: Responsibility starts now. This aims at laying a foundation for teenagers to begin proactively participating in building the Ummah.

The Ummah: The right of a Muslim over his fellow Muslim. This targets emphasizing the need for a collective consciousness towards the plight of the Ummah and the need to actively work towards creating opportunities that strengthens the Ummah’s social and economic power.

CATEGORY A – Executive Package

  • Mention company name as sponsor on the Radio and TV adverts
  • 1Ummah will place ads for event on various radio stations to run through at certain times of the day for listeners all over Nigeria
  • Verbal endorsements on the event days
  • During event, verbal endorsements will be made of company and partnership with 1Ummah Foundation by the Amir of 1Ummah
  • A 5 minutes’ presentation on Day 1 or Day 2
  • Company will be allocated a 5 min time slot to make a presentation of desire by company persons to the audience.
  • Specific time slots and days are negotiable
  • Print Company’s logo on all events publicity materials (billboards, newspapers, posters, flyers)
  • Placing company LOGO on flyers and posters placed around Abuja of event details
  • Company has option of putting a coupon on the flyers
  • Display of Company’s banner at the venue of the event
  • Company banners will be placed at strategic locations around and in event hall; at entrances and ticket sale points
  • Standing banners placed close to stage
  • Display of Company’s logo on our website with a link to the company’s website & email
  • Company logo placed on 1Ummah website with a link to company website
  • A reserved corner for the company to market its products to potential customers at the event per day
  • A stall at strategic locations with access to whole event
  • Unlimited company markers and managers will be allowed to move about to distribute flyers and other company merchandise
  • Stall location close to entrances and exits priority over premium package owners
  • Breakout sessions named after companies
  • 3 Breakout sessions available

CATEGORY B – Premium Package

  • Mention company name as sponsor on the Radio and TV adverts
  • 1Ummah will place ads for event on various radio stations to run through at certain times of the day for listeners all over Nigeria
  • Verbal endorsements on the event days
  • During event, verbal endorsements will be made of company and partnership with 1Ummah Foundation by the Amir of 1Ummah

  • Time slot non negotiable
  • Print Company’s logo on all events publicity materials (billboards, newspapers, posters, flyers)
  • Placing company LOGO on flyers and posters placed around Abuja of event details
  • Company has option of putting a coupon on the flyers
  • Display of Company’s banner at the venue of the event
  • Company banners will be placed at strategic locations around at entrances, ticket sale points and outside event center
  • Display of Company’s logo on our website with a link to the company’s website & email
  • Company logo placed on 1Ummah website with a link to company website
  • A reserved corner for the company to market its products to potential customers at the event per day
  • A stall at strategic locations with access to whole event
  • Company markers limited to 3 persons will be allowed to move about to distribute flyers and other company merchandise
  • Stall location close to entrances and exits with priority over standard package owners

CATEGORY C – Standard Package

  • Print Company’s logo on all events publicity billboards
  • Placing company LOGO on billboards around Abuja of event details
  • Company has option of a coupon being distributed
  • Display of Company’s banner at the venue of the event
  • Company banners will be placed at strategic locations outside event center around and ticket sale points
  • Display of Company’s logo on our website with a link to the company’s website & email
  • Company logo placed on 1Ummah website with a link to company website
  • A reserved corner for the company to market its products to potential customers at the event per day
  • A stall at strategic locations with priority

*Note: The event is targeting the following with respect to attendance and viewership;

10,000 participants for both days of the event at the venue, which is the International Conference Centre
Over 2 Million online viewers, as the event will be streamed live online
The event will be carried by major mainstream electronic and print media houses, thereby giving it a wider reach across the Nation
